On March’17 Biathlon World Cup Final in Khanty-Mansiysk will start with women sprint. The head coach of the national team of Russia Sergey Konovalov has announced the lineup for the race.
— Of cause, the emotional conditions of our team and me personally are not the best. Nonetheless, our performance on the World Championships in Norway was far from perfect, – confessed Sergey Konovalov, – We are all happy to be back in Russia and to finish this season on our homeland.
Seven athletes of Russia will participate in sprint. Olga Podchufarova has already finished the season. Meanwhile, Victoria Slivko is training with the team for long-term plans. So, the lineup of Russian squad for women sprint includes Anastasia Zagoruiko, Ekaterina Yurlova, Svetlana Sleptsova, Ekaterina Shumilova, Darya Virolaynen, Tatiana Akimova and Anna Scherbinina. Thus, 5 athletes that were participating in World Championships will also be competing in Khanty-Mansiysk, while Sleptsova and Scherbinina got the right to take part in the race upon entering Top-10 list of IBU Cup.
