MASS START RACES WILL END THE WORLD CUP SEASON

Men mass start held today in Alexander Filipenko Winter Sport Center will start the last competition day of this World Cup season. After this, big biathlon will leave the capital of Ugra for some time.

There’s already no intrigue concerning men Total Score. Martin Fourcade has celebrated a double-digit victory so his position in Total Score will not change no matter how today’s race ends. Today he will be awarded with his fifth big Crystal Globe.

The battle for the second position in the total standing will be set between Johannes Thinges Boe and Anton Shipulin who will be wearing bibs #2 and #3 today. There’s only 14 points between them in the total score.

Germany will have the biggest number of athletes participating in the race today.  In addition to three medalists of Khanty-Mansiysk – Simon Schempp, Arnd Peiffer and Erik Lesser – one more athlete – Benedikt Doll will compete today. France will also be represented by four athletes: both Fourcade brothers, Simon Desthieux and Quentin  Fillon Maillet.

Evgeny Garanichev will be wearing bib #7. One more Russian athlete Maxin Tsvetkov has bib #24.
